The Martial Arts Brotherhood

Insurance Update.

The Martial Arts Brotherhood has worked for a long time in providing its members with the best possible services available. Indeed, it is a policy that the Martial Arts Brotherhood holds deep to the very core of its existence. With this in mind, the secretary, Neil Horton, received numerous requests from none members to provide top-class insurance for instructors and students alike, from within the framework of the organisation.

There were specifically two areas that became apparent when investigating what instructors needed. Firstly, many instructors have or had joined an association purely on the principle of gaining insurance and for no other reason. Instructors were obviously conscious of the responsibilities they have and are were fully aware of the consequences if they did not have adequate insurance cover. Secondly, there was an awful lot of confusion to what type of insurance cover was needed, and in fact, there were also questions raised to what actual insurance they had paid or had paid into?

The Martial Arts Brotherhood was quick to assist wherever and whenever it could (yet another policy contained within its framework). To assist instructors, and simply to increase its overall membership, the Martial Arts Brotherhood arranged insurance cover for the instructors and fully explained what they had paid for and what level of insurance they had arranged.

Insurance can start from as little as £2.00 per member depending upon the size of the club or the organisation concerned. Further details can be obtained from Neil Horton, Secretary, The Martial Arts Brotherhood, 33 Bristnall Hall Road, Oldbury, Warley, West Midlands B68 9TS. A guide will be sent out the same day.

National Club Register.

The Martial Arts Brotherhood receives many requests on a regular basis from both martial artists and members of the public in connection with clubs and arts in specific areas. Again, the Martial Arts Brotherhood set about collating a database of clubs and arts in different areas of the UK. With time the national database has expanded and assisted many clubs in gaining names of individuals who are keen to join their classes.

Any club wishing to be placed on the national database must first write to the Martial Arts Brotherhood to obtain the necessary paperwork to be completed before entry on the register. A nominal fee of £5 per club per year is charged for those wishing to use the service. The Martial Arts Brotherhood will inform the club secretary of names and numbers of those individuals who have shown an interest. A helpline number will also be manned for individuals looking for clubs or arts.
